  • Global Education: A curricular approach that enables students to extend learning outside the classroom, and learn about different cultures, viewpoints, and contexts.  Students build 21st century skills as they develop a socially conscious perspective that allows them to view themselves in relation to their communities and to the world at large.
Introduction:  In order to prepare students to meet 21st century college and career skills, school curriculum must be designed to meet global and technology demands of the future.  We are preparing our students for careers and lives beyond the threshold of our city and state.  In order to this well, students must be prepared to: explore the world through global themes and issues; acknowledge different perspectives, communicate ideas using a variety of strategies; use 21st century skills; and to collaborate in teams in order to create and take action.  Teachers with a mind toward global education prepare students for a life beyond the local.  This is one of the aspects of BHUSD’s 2014 mission statement ideas.
